No, I stated a fact. Three of them, in fact:
* While there is a good deal of disagreement about
details, there is a well-established mainstream
understanding of what is meant by 'PIE'.
* I accept that mainstream understanding, while remaining
agnostic about many of the details. (By the way, this
isn't unthinking acceptance of some dogma: it's the
result of having thought about and understood the
arguments.)
* Those linguists and 'linguists' who are outside this
mainstream are few in number and by definition
eccentric. They would be eccentric even if they were
right.
