You seem to have replied via the web interface. That is hostile to UTF-8, and is only suitable for ISO-2022 compatible encodings, which UTF-8 is not. At any rate, one of your messages was tagged as being Latin-1, and Yahoo straightens the curled quotes in the Windows-1252 extension.
