The closest I can come is the pair PCelt *ken-o 'descend
from, come into being, be born' (OIr <cinid>), which
Matasović derives from PIE *ken- 'begin', and PCelt
*kenetlo- 'race, kind' (OWelsh <cenetl>, Cornish
<kinethel>), from the same source. (I've not given all of
the reflexes; rather, I've picked the ones most like
'knith'.)
