So the root of 'dyeus' is 'shine', it's got nothing to do with family relation names like 'mother', 'father', 'daughter' and so on.
I wonder when this concept of the 'sky father' arose - it is nowhere documented. Jupiter is just 'Zeus-pater' and relates to the planet Jupiter not to the sky as such, unless the sense is 'night sky father'?
