Rather than the inovative insertion in the wrong place,
was not that rather the regular retaining of the grades from the stage of
the language when "djew" was not a single morpheme?

dj-ew- suffix is in full grade, thus root in zero grade
dej-w-o- last suffix again is in full grade, penultimate suffix in zero
grade, thus root in full grade.
