I will add here :

Skt. bhasád 'pudendum mulier, penis etc...'

this Skt. word I think that is the missing link between bHos-o- 'bare footed' and Germ. bo:smaz 'bosom', because it clearly shows a short vowel *bHos-ó- as in *bhos-ó-s 'bare foots' but its semantism 'the hinder or secrets parts,..' (and I quoted MW definition (page 750) not my assumptiom) is closed to initial semantism of 'bosom'

So to resume : for a bHos- PIE word 'a swollen limb of the body, a secret one, a hidden one, so a part not quite ok to be exposed ( --> from where the meaning of 'naked')

We would have:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
PIE *bHos-s- > PIE *bHos-smo > PIE *bHo:s-mo- > Germ. bo:smaz 'bosom'
PIE *bHos-ó- >
PIE *bHos-ó-d- > Skt. bhasád 'a genital part'
PIE *bhos-ó- 'bare foots' (> Germanic, >Baltic, >Slavic ...)
PIE *bHos-m- > Skt. bhám.sas 'an abdominal or intestinal part'
---------------------------------------------------------------------
