Well, normally I would leave it at that because I know how you don't
like to perpetuate threads in which you've stated your point, but to
tell the truth I still don't understand how the meaning "make aware"
becomes "command". Could you please explain the semantic development
if possible? I would appreciate it because it would help me to
understand how the same verb can mean both "offer" and "command",
which seem completely unrelated to me and which has always boggled my
mind.
