LIV compares <rapio:> with Lith. (ap)-ré.piu 'umgeben, umfassen', Alb.
rjep 'zieht aus, beraubt' and Gk. eréptomai 'rupfe, reiße ab'. The
reconstruction proposed there is *(h1)rep-, and the Latin present is
said to reflect *r&p-jé/ó-, with a schwa secundum.
