Those who might be interested in joining this "professional" group should be
first informed about some ideas about M. Patnaik acting as the moderator.

Denying holocaust is one thing - Accepting it but trying to interpret as a
necessary evil is certainly another thing. Negationists are falsifiers.
Justificators are a much better lot.

I think that the present mail from M. Patnaik is unacceptable spam in
Cybalist.
And that M. Patnaik himself and most of his ideas are unacceptable on a
decent list with a respectable agenda.

Something will have to be done, sooner or later.

I remember having received that mail :

Dear fellow members,
A new moderatorial policy for Cybalist will be announced and implemented
by the end of this week -- probably on Friday or Saturday. You may
expect some changes including the temporary moderation of _all_ members
and some mild regulatory measures to prevent excesive and off-topic
posting. Sorry for any inconvenience it may cause, but a small-scale
reform seems necessary to restore the quality of the list.

So, When does it start for real ?

Subject: [tied] A professional group on Ancient India

Dear all,
The Yahoo! group "AncientIndia" is a discussion forum started by me about
4 years ago with a view to disseminate knowledge of Ancient Indian Past to
historians and laymen alike.
groups.yahoo.com/group/ancientindia
It is a a professional group for studying the History,Philosophy,Sociology,
Culture and Linguistics of Ancient India, with the period being covered
starts from prehistoric times through Vedic age, IVC times, Buddha,
Mauryans, Satavahanas, Vakatakas, Guptas till the times of Harsha Vardhana.
Members are encouraged to discuss Indology and Indian History on the basis
of Archeology, Literature, Tradition , Linguistics and other tools.
The thrust is on radical research of Indian past in the indigenous
cultural context and try to understand the same through ages in the
International environment, rather than in isolation.
There are about 250 members, including several professors and professionals
in Indology and allied fields.
You are cordially invited to join and make the group mutually beneficial,
succeeding in understanding the History of this great country in a more
coherent manner, with readings from diversified fields.
