Would you pleas explain in what sense you were being a smartass?
I didn't catch it?

Several years ago, I OCR'ed 41 of the articles of his Kleine
Schriften, plus 'Das letzte Indogermanisch', plus the
'Dreimännerbuch', which I've all read at least once, the more central
ones several times.
Search in the archives
Kuhn Torsten und : 175 hits
Kuhn Torsten ist : 62 hits
which reflects (at least partially) my habit of quoting him in German.
Further, I'd like to point out that beside Hachmann's and Kossack's
contributions in the 'Dreimännerbuch' on the archaeology of the area
in the relevant period, I read Peschel too, which I translated pieces
of for George when it turned out that, in spite of his pronouncement
that there could not have been any factual foundation for the claims
of Snorri and Saxo of events in Germania at the time, he had no
knowledge of the actual (pre)history of that area.
How about you?
And in which article have you found his statements about Celtic
linguistics?
