Ask Hungarians. Google gives thousands hits with Hung. sites containing
words with <ë>, e.g.:

_ëgy_ -- 3280 GH

_o-tilde_, _o-circumflex_ and _u-circumflex_ are not ASCII characters.
They're 8-bit while ASCII is 7-bit only.

RFC 1345 can be used *consistently* for hundreds of languages and is
certainly more professional (or "professional") than any local
transcription/transliteration. Awkwardness is temporary.
