No, it isn't. The sentence that you misread:
Five different roots are attested: (1) *marko- in Old
Welsh <march>; (2) *kurs- (?) 'to run' in Old Englisb

(4) *kob- (?) in Old Church Slavonic <konjU>; and the
widespread (5) *ekwos in Old Irish <ech>, Latin <equus>,
