Without going into the question of whether 1380 BCE is post-Vedic
or not, you apparently miss the point that someone (sorry, I lost
track of who) made. The Indic words used by the Mittani show
phonetic features more primitive than Vedic, hence the separation of
the Mittanic and Vedic languages (or their linguistic forebears) must
have occurred in pre-Vedic time.
