Prthvi or Aditi

In the Vedic mythology the Mother Goddess was ambiguously considered as Pr.thvi: (Earth Mother) or as Aditi (Liberty, Infinity) . Is this a reflex of two different mixed cosmogonies?
I began to text a hypothesis that PIE Dyeus (Sky-Father) had three different wives : an earth-Goddess (*dHg^Hom, *pltH2wi:, *h1er-(t)h2-), an atmospheric one (cf. Aditi, Frigg, Dione) and a water deity (cf. Da:nu/Diti, Eurynome, Me:tis, Domnu). The "Air-Mother" generated gods, and the "Water-Mother" generated the "giants" (cf. Fomoire, Jo,tun, Rashasa, Asura).
I'm confuse about the parentage of Vedic gods like Varuna, Mitra, Agni, Surya, etc. Are they sons of Aditi or of Prthvi? Any specific god was considered only as son of Earth or of Aditi?
