Why is it by the way that I don't see any references to Proto-Semitic
on cybalist. This is in contrast to the great number of anachronistic
comparisons between PIE and Arabic, PIE and Hebrew, which I also find
in Arnauds article. Is this "not a valid node" either nowadays? For
the finalité of accommodating Proto-World?

Jouppe, I think you have not been on the list long enough to know that I
refer to PAA (Proto-Afro-Asiatic whenever the connections suggest its
usefulness.

There is really nothing "anachronistic" about comparisons between PIE and
Semitic or Hieroglyphic Egyptian under the rubric Nostratic.

The case has been made for Nostratic; only some details need to be managed
into a consensus. I have been impressed by your expertise in Uralistics but
on this point, you are sadly misinformed.

While going back farther than Nostratic is problematical, it is not been
neglected.

I am working on an essay right now connecting PIE, Sumerian, and
Hieroglyphic Egyptan with Nama, a KhoiSan language.

You will reject this possibility a priori but I invite you to take a look
and try to fairly judge what you see. The essay is under construction so is
incomplete but there is enough there to establish the connections I believe.

Try to temporarily belay your prejudgments and look at the material.

Proto-World is a term used by Ruhlen and Greenberg for a differently based
set of words and morphemes.

My Proto-Language is based on strict comparitivist principles as well as I
am able to execute them.


If you judge the work negatively, let me know specifically what your
objections are, and I will try to correct what needs to be corrected.
