If I read Sammallahti correctly, an intervocalic stop
disappears in Permic, so *kota > *kua.

My own proposal for PU is *ku?t-

Cognates :
Proto-Turcic gül < *ku?t-i
Proto-Mongolian ger < ku?t-i

The regular reflexes in PU are :
Finnish: kota (koti)
Saami: goatte
Ersä: kudo
Moksha: kud
Mari (mountain): kudë
Mari (plain): kudo
Permic (Udmurt): ko
Permic (Komi): kë
Ostyak: kat, xot, xat
Hungarian: ház

The root *ku?- has an obvious relationship
with a certain number of Germanic words :
House < *ku?-s-
Hut < *ku?-t-
Cot < *ku?-t- (Uralic borrowing ?)
Hoard < *ku?-s-dh-

PYenissei *xu?s "house"
