Arnaud, you never fail to amaze me with what you know and what you do not
know.

Arabic <a> is completely without value for predicting what the AA vowel
might have been. Arabic has vowel patterning through which the quality of
the vowels is determined grammatically not etymologically.

Now, what in Heaven's name, is <º> supposed to signify in Hebrew?
