Because the culture it represented was more
prestigious --look at how the Romans viewed Greek
culture
See how Latin America perceives US culture
Come to El Salvador next Christmas and see all the
fake snow, reindeer, bearded fat men in thick red
suits dying of hear stroke.
The Easter Bunny and Halloween are just getting off
the ground here. But they celebrated Halloween when I
was in Cartagena, Colombia.
When I lived on the Québec border, I was amazed to see
how big Halloween was in Québec, The locals assured me
Halloween was a French word for a holiday from France
when I walked into "le boutique plus hanté de Québec"
