Medio-passive derivative
*bhiH-t?-
Meaning : to be afraid
(CF. LAtin timi-d-us)
Causative -eje
*bhoiH-t?-eje-
To cause to be afraid
hence
*baidy'-ti.

I still cannot see
why -d- should be *-dh-

It goes against semantics.
