I guess <baidýti> is nominal (as a lot of verbs in -ýti are); I have
no opinion on the other words of this nest as well as on the
peculiarities of the PIE proto-form(s), i. e. whether it was a "long
diphthong" or "heavy base" or something else. I simply copied it from
Miguel's posting.
