from? Was there a deformation of *humala > **hupala?

and became added to beer
only at the end of the Middle Ages.
The root is like *kup?-
Germanic *kup? > *hupp-
This word was suffixed by -mo-
Hence kup?-mo > *kumo-
in Uralic and Altaic languages.
There is no *m > p
but p?+m > m
