If you think that *e/*o are analogous phenomena to Semitic vowel patterning,
and, that *o is nominal whereas *e is verbal (I think you wrote this), then
you need to think again.
*o appears in many verbal as well as nominal inflections but, by no means,
are all or even the majority of nominals endowed with *o.

CoC is a noun
CeC is a verb
In very earlier stages of Proto-Sapiens
Afterwards, things became more complicated
because of suffixes that change the syntactic class.
