Unknown etymology?? How about Slavic *strojI 'arrangment, attire,
clothes' from *strojiti?

It may be a distant relative of <straujan> via the "unextended root"
*ster-, though such equations are always shaky. Of course *strojI can't
be the prototype of <straua> (not *straia vel sim.).
