There are some sites on which I usually simply won't waste
my time, like <www.continuitas.com>. Sometimes I recognize
a worthwhile site and can save myself the trouble, because
I've already seen it. More generally, the URL often gives
me some idea of whether it's likely to be worth my time.
Oh, and I always want to know if the target is a PDF, partly
because I'm on dial-up, and partly because complex PDFs
occasionally crash either Acrobat or Firefox.
(But while all of this is true, when you get right down to
it, I suspect that I just don't like blind links.)
