NE Caucasian, for instance.========ARnaudI consider NE Caucasian to be part of PIEso it's definitely not the place to look for Etruscans.===============See the posts from Ed Robertson on this list. In any case, Etruscan is clearly not connected with other languages in Italy.

ArnaudEtruscan is obviously not closely related to PIEAnd I will add that the extreme difficulty of connecting Etruscan to anything elseis easily explained when you just assume this language has occupied northern Italy for 37 000 years in half - isolation.I haven't had time to read your reference carefullybut a quick reading seems to look like the typical "act of faith"which can be summed up as "Nothing is not clear at all but I want it so badly to be true that it must be true".But maybe I am prematurely harsh.Arnaud===================
