I think this is too complicated. If there was fusion it was
probably from the aorist:

*(e) dhxY,te > *edhte ana> *eduTe
*(e) dhxYent ana> *edhxYn,t > *edund

*-to- > *-da-


*-da-ede:m *-da-edume
*-daede:m *-daedume
*-d_ede:m *-d_edume
*-de:de:m *-de:dume
*-de:m *-de:dume (hap. in singular)
*-do: *-de:dume (ana. for 1s)
