Hittite town Nesa = word for "home that is returned to?"

The town Kanes is also called Nesa(s); could this latter name be
related to PIE *nes- ? The latter word is attested in Greek
(néomai "return home"), Avestani (asta- "house"), Old English (ge-
nesan "be saved" - and for that matter, in German too as genesen with
the same meaning), and Sanskrit (násate "unite with"), and is suggested
to mean "return home" in PIE by Mallory and Adams (2006).
