New findings maybe sugest that Seth totemic animal was a wildebeest or gnu (Connochates taurinus).

Assunto: Egypt Mystery bones identified

For those who were following the Egypt mystery bone contest, set in
April by the Bolton Museum, UK, for guessing the identity of one of
the linen-wrapped mystery bones, discovered in the 1920s by
archaeologists at the temple of Set in Egypt. First Prize was a copy
of Mayor's book The First Fossil Hunters, which brought the fossil
bones to public attention in 2000.

The Bolton Museum bone was one of the thousands of bones of extinct
and living animals dedicated at the temple of the god of darkness in
antiquity. It was the most well-preserved specimen in the Bolton
Museum's collection; tons of other fossils dedicated at the temple
still remain unopened and unstudied in the Natural History Museum's
London warehouse.
