Cow-Goddess mother of the Maruts (she also bore a "score of
children"), usually considered to be the earth.

Whether from *perkY+ or *pel(e)kYu+ 'curved (weapon, axe)'
w>uw in Indo-Iranian after both *par- and *pa:r- since they
are heavy syllables.

The change s^w > sw > sp isn't from Proto-Iranian; different
languages show different outcomes (some optional). There's
also sw > sp in non-Iranian Khowar.

The form *Pa:rs^uwa- comes from an analogical derivative
adjective (after o-e-0 > a(:)-a-0 with a: favored).
