There is a PIE word *pr,sdós (also *pr,sdn,kús or
*pr,sdn,lís) which I'd connect to:
*pàrás > *pèrós 'around, on the other side, far'
*sàdás > *sèdós 'sitting'
*pàrásàdás > *pàrasàdás > *pa_rsa_dás > *pr,sdós
'sitting on the far side = waiting in ambush'
but I wouldn't connect it to Persia, etc; it has no
*w so it's unsuited as a proto-form.
Also, my responses seem to be taking hours to arrive,
