The rationale for the *h1's vs. *h3's is comparison with the
equivalent plural forms (where pl. *s = du. *h3, and pl. *j
= du. *h1):

Nom.2. *mé(:)s *swéj(-es)
Obl.1. *n.smé(:) *usmé(:)
Obl.2. *no(:)s *wo(:)s
