An alternative view for Ra:tri: < *LeH2-, akin to la:tere "to cover, to hide"

  (1) ra:má- 'pleasing' < *(h1)rom-ó- 'soothing, bringing calm' (cf.
Ved.   rámati, -te);
>
  (2) ra:má- 'dark', ra:mí: 'night', ultimately from *h1roh1-mó-
'still,    restful', cf. *h1réh1-mn. 'rest, stillness' (Av. ra:man-).

One of these two roots could explain Ro:mulus. < *h1roh1m-olo- ?

So, we may assume *av-+ *reH1-mo- (> *rH1e-mo- through laryngeal
metathesis) > PAlb avreno > Gheg vrân, Tosk vrër 'darksome, cloudy',
deadjectival verb m'u vrâ/vrënjt 'to darken', to get lastly Alb m-
(<*H2em- 'to hold') + ram-je > mrâmje/mbrëmje (abtract noun from
participle) 'evening'.
