It seems that in: 'Flowing Riches: Greek aphenos
and Indo-European Streams', Dr Andreas Willi
he connects aphrós with áph(e)nos 'wealth' as in
"abundant, affluent". I'd also say plou^tos <
*pYle_vYètós 'flowing' (_ represents mid tone).
If this is correct, I should add a rule to the
above:
0>e / V+tone ph _ n.
This makes it possible that Athe:na:^ is actually
from *Wa_xtn.ós ( > *Wo:dan.az > Óðinn, etc).
0>a / V+tone th _ n.
Wa_xtn.ós
Wa_thn.ós
Wa_than.ós
form the fem. (consort) with *-nYí:x
Wa_than.nYí:x
Wa_than.nYi:x
Wáthan.nYi:x
Wátha:nYi:x
etc.
Wátha:nia voc.
Wátha:nia -a: (mix two common fem. endings)
Wátha:na:ia
Wátha:naia: (met.)
Watha:naía:
etc.
