The germanic -o:n -n+ stems are certainly
fascinating. Since various consonants undergo
different changes when followed by a N than a V the
paradigms become chaotic. Analogy of various types
and splitting into different words both occur.
However, the explanation here is different.

gWanxá+ík+M > gW(e)nxóikm, > -áikm,
gWanxá+ík+ás > gW(e)nxikós
