The semantic development of Slavic *bogU, 'wealth' > 'god' closely
follows that of Iranian *baga-, making it likely that the word is a
cultural loan. The meaning 'wealth' seems to have been the intermediate
stage between 'divide' and 'god'. I see no compelling reason for the
reconstruction of *h2 inside this root.
