You wouldn't a total nutjob, but you might be a bit too uncritical.
There's a rock in Namibia that might suggest a python to someone
with sufficient imagination. From the photo in your source I don't
see evidence for carving rather than natural weathering. To conclude
it was used in a ritual related to creation mythology takes a LOT of
imagination.
There's been some discussion of this report on the
Indo-Eurasian_research list (thread starting at message 5559). All
that was established is that the investigators named appear to be
legitimate scholars. No professional publication seems to be out,
and there's no explanation of the 70,000 year dating.
