If the names were analogous, Ingaevones < *Yngvi < *Ingwan; should Istaevones < *Istvi < *Istwan ? Norse equivalent would be *Ystvi, would'nt it?

Joao,

My thanks for your continued response. I am unfamiliar with *Is-ro- ,
nor can I find any similar roots in the AHDIER. Could you direct me
to a source?
Furthermore, while "rapid and quick" might be applicable to Thor,
they are not adjectives which seem really intensely linked with his
character.
*IF* the oft cited (and now well disputed) theory that Lodur = Loki
(and Loki = Agni) were true, one would think rapid & quick to be much
more suited to Loki.
Of course, as I said the equating of Lodur and Loki has been fairly
well refuted - it was simply an example.

Sincerely,
Aydan
