Now, could somebody possibly describe the regular phonological changes for me that lead to the Spanish "arbol", please? The derivation seems quite easy to me, but I am not acquainted with the Spanish-specific developements. Examples which show the same developements are welcome. Thank you a lot in advance, again.

It seems more likely PIE *(H2>x) xurdhwós with u
dissimilating to a by r and u/w/CW as:

xurdhwós dhruugWhs
xardhwós dhraugWhs
xardhwós draugWhs
xardhwós gWhrauds
etc
arduus fraus
