I think they can all come from the same PIE word
(that was itself slightly irregular due to sound
changes).

Gen luug^suwós < laug^snwás
tones: mid1 mid2 - high2
Some have n-less forms spread; have n-metathesis;
sus>us in nom. and spreads (before or after g^s>k^s);
uu>u (mid1 mid2 > mid1) in Greek and Germanic;
k^us>k^s in Greek (as hápax); Armenian inserts a vowel
in g^s_n (w?) since it's complex.
