You mean *gWem-/*gWah2- on the one hand, I suppose, and PGmc. *Ge:- (as
in <go>, <gehen>, etc.) and *GanG- (as in Goth. gaggan, OE gangan, ON
ganga, etc.) on the other. Of the latter pair, the first verb has good
cognates outside Germanic (e.g. Skt. jáha:ti) and seems to reflect PIE
*g^Heh1(i)- 'leave, go out' (in my private theory of "long diphthong"
roots this would be rewritten as *g^Heih1-). The second has only
uncertain external cognates and looks like some kind of obscured
reduplication, perhaps somehow related to *Ge:-. I wouldn't like to say
too much about *gWem- and *gWah2- in public at the moment. I've written
an article about them and I'm waiting for the prospective publisher's
decision right now. But if you're interested in a sneak preview, I'll be
happy to send you a copy.
