What about Bromley (St. Leonard = modern B.-by-Bow), which comes from OE
bræm(b)el le:ah 'bramble-meadow'? There are many "broom" and "bramble"
placenames all over England (the other London Bromley is OE bro:m le:ah
'broom-meadow'!).
