That's the whole dynamics of such a place. First you place all that
should kept safe on the island, then you get annoyed at all the
unnecessary transportation to the customers in the hinterland on the
banks, plus your island runs low on space, and suddenly you have
faubourgs on both banks, which you then must protect by moat/wall,
or be prepared to abandon in case of trouble, cf 'Shichinin no
Samurai'. That happened in Paris. Anyway I think this idea flies
better than Brambleville. ;-)
