Many derivatives yes, but none related to ice or snow or at least to
water...

Also the 'brigtness' suggested by *bHeh2- was a "bright white-red"
one -> a 'purple' color (please at list to consult the list of
cognates).

So sorry to tell you , but even the color is 'not good enough' :) So
how you arrive to invent it?

Etymologies like: '"any kind" of shine' -> 'snow' ; 'falling down' -
> 'snow' without additional cognates or correlations are folk
etymologies.

'Unfortunately' Abdullah, there is nothing written in DEX on this
area to 'can finish' it.

Well, I finally have to throw in my two  bits on this discussion.

 

*bhaH- (my formulation), which most PIEists believe is *bheH2-, is "colored" and lengthened to *bha:- by *H2's effect on *e. "colored" is the generally prevalent terminology.

 

In my opinion, the core semantic significance of *bhaH- is 'to stand out'; in the context of qualities, this can generally be interpreted as 'bright' or 'white'. Unless 'snow' is not 'white' or 'bright' (reflective) where you live, I can see no objection to applying *bhaH- to 'snow'; it would be like talking about the 'whiteness/white stuff' on the ground. The connection is not through 'water' (a silly idea) but through whiteness or brightness.

In the context of activities, *bhaH- means to 'talk loudly or solemnly or ceremoniously' — again, 'to talk in a way that stands out'.

*bhaH- in the realm of objects is the base on which 'beard' is built ('that which stands out).

 I would be interested to learn how you connect *bhaH- with 'red/purple'. I have never seen it.
