Oh, I've just realized the following:

Russian: poperëk 'across'
Old Russian: perekU `width, cross-beam'
Slovak: <priek> 'obstinacy, resistance'
Czech: <pr^i:kry:>
Polish: <przeko> 'across'
etc.
