Even I see only variant form in *bheu-, nevertheless I like to add that Alb.
<bubuqe/burbuqe> 'bud' has its cognate in South-Slavic <pupoljak> 'id.'.

Patrick:

Good for you!

I think it might be vaguely possible that *beu- had a fuller form,
*be?/Heu-, which might have produced *bHeu- under the right stress-accentual
conditions (since PIE *b was generally so unpopular) but, I must confess, I
do not see that happening with either *d or *g/*g^.

I would be inclined _not_ to connect the two mentioned above; *peu- has its
own independent existence specialized, when properly employed, to 'blow
up/out' rather than 'swollen' but with the usual sloppy crossovers.

Our ancestors needed a good *bobo on the *popo.
