*aiw-/*ayu- `vital force, long life, eternity'. Alb. amësh-
oum `eternal' (Buzuku), amsh-im `eternity' seems to be related to this
root, but in compound form *ayu- + moshoum 'long, eternal age',
probably through the syncope of media and normal reduction of form
<moshoum> in <mëshoum> due to the accent in the last syllable of the
adjective <amëshoum> and verbal noun <amsh-im>. Also is possible this
word to be derived from *n. (zero-grade form of *ne `not') + moshë >
amoshoum > amëshoum (cf. i moshoum `aged').
Meyer explain it from Italian <immenso> that, as semantically, as
phonetically is not correct.
Anny help?
