correct. And the verb was never linked instinctively with "a da" ( to
give) since the desinence was not "*prãdau" for the pers. I sg. in
OldRom. The verb was in Ind. pers. 1. sg "pradu" and the more I think
the more I guess the supposed Latin composita *prai-heda:" (if I
remember correct) is not the right etymology but one influenced by
prehndere.
