In an unstressed syllable there's no diphongisation either in Albanian
or in Romanian, and as far as I know the Romanian stress is initial in
this word. For albanian, cf. *dHeubeto- 'see' > *debët > *deët > de:t,
not *dejet or the like. Of course there _are_ other sources of /j/ in
Romanian, e.g. palatalised /l/ or /n/.
