Richard, I make a sincere effort to trim posts. So far as I know, I am the
only one utilizing <snip> to indicate where, in my opinion, irrelevant
material was located.

As for the matter of carets, in this present posting, your remarks are
preceded by one caret while mine as preceded by two carets. And that is how
all my emails arrive. The last sender has one caret, and each previous
sender has one caret added. They are put in automatically.

If you are not getting mail in this form, perhaps you need to tweak your
settings.

However, I am willing to do anything which increases the transparency of the
exchanges.
