Jens has also pointed out the effect of lengthening.

Um, in case you don't know, *h1 was already invented
for medial and final positions as well, so it would
be suspect if it didn't also occur in initial
position... and again, the lengthening?

I admit, people sometimes go too far with laryngeals,
but this is not one of those times.
